Kemerovo, Russia


 



We arrived here on June 18 and are happy to be settled for the next three months or so.   These are views from our apartment window.  Kemerovo is a growing industrial city with some beautiful parks.  Siberia seems to be a nice place to spend the summer, even though the night is only about five hours.  It is still twilight at 11:00 at night, and full daylight by 4 in the morning!  It will take some getting used to.


This church is just around the corner and plays chimes morning and evening.  There is a large shopping mall on the other side of our building.  Very convenient!











This is our apartment.  I call it the pink palace.  It is peachy!



I enjoy cooking in the bright and efficient kitchen.  It's good that I like it since we feed our district of eight missionaries weekly, and also have firesides and other meetings here.

This is the trolley-tram that we ride to church.  Our church group has fourteen local members and eight missionaries.  Most of the members are teens and young adults.

    What a unique theme! Looks like your decorator was in a cheerful mood. Are those your views? You must be several floors up. What direction do you face--do you get the morning sun?

      Yes, those are our views. We are on the 8th floor. Our windows face northwest, so we get some afternoon sun.
