As we walked through this square on the way home from Church this afternoon, we enjoyed seeing many families celebrating Children's Day.

Early this week we visited an organization that provides jobs for handicapped individuals.  This sewing machine is an old model that needs to be replaced.  Since we are scheduled to leave Kazakhstan in about two weeks, we are hurrying to begin some projects that we will be able to develop and submit for approvals while we are out of the country.

Yesterday we attended the circus for our district cultural activity.  Our district is only 6 missionaries, but we enjoy spending time together.  This is a picture taken in the square in front of the circus.

I thought it might be cheesy, but the performances were terrific with a live band and  a large variety of professional performances.  Way cool, as our elders and sisters described it.

We ate at a Kazakh restaurant and then walked along the river on the way home.

  1. Nice update. The city looks clean and well maintained (other than the old sewing machine!). Are your shoes getting worn out from all the walking?

  2. Beautiful river. If warmer, maybe canoeing is in order. HOJ
