Early in the  week we visited a homeless shelter to discuss their needs. Later, our mission president and his wife visited for a few days.  They will be finishing their mission the end of June, and this was their last visit to Kazakhstan.  We spent Friday afternoon with them and our young Elders and Sisters seeing some of the sights in Astana.

We met in front of the Khan Shatyr.  This is a large shopping mall and entertainment center.  It also includes a swimming beach on one floor and a grocery store in the basement.

Baiterik Tower (The Tree of Life) has spectacular views of the city from the top.

Here we are in front of the Presidential Palace.

With our current visas, we need to leave Kazakhstan before June 17.  We will be heading back to Russia for a couple of months.  Things are going well here, and we will be sad to leave.
