Yes, the windchill is -49 degrees this morning. And yes, it does feel incredibly cold. We have had appointments, meetings and errands all week that required us to be out and about, on foot or using public transportation. The forecast indicates that it should be 1 degree above zero the end of next week. Looking forward to it! Astana is second only to Ulan Bator, Mongolia as the coldest world capital city. It is colder here than Helsinki or Moscow, and that is my comment for today.
Not trying to downplay how cold it is there, but I'll remind you that your timing is good for not owning a house (with driveway and sidewalk) in Fort Wayne. At least you don't have anything to shovel!
