Food

When I took this egg out of the carton I was surprised to find a chicken feather still attached. Some of the food bought in the grocery stores here is a little more natural than I am accustomed to.

The bread comes either in a loaf or a round.  I have yet to find sliced bread.  Also, rye bread is quite common.  The stores here have a terrific selection of grains, legumes and basic canned foods such as vegetables, fruits, beans and fish.  There is also a small selection of fresh produce.

These are pouches of catsup, lemon preserves (jam), and mayonnaise.  The pouches are easy to use and store.  Items such as canned soups, pasta sauce, processed cheeses, bottled salad dressing, many spices and seasonings, chocolate chips, baking mixes and peanut butter are  difficult if not impossible to find. It's back to basic cooking for me.  I think we are eating healthier.

  1. As far as the egg goes, it's a good thing you're not squeamish! The bread looks wholesome and delicious. I hope you have a good bread knife.
