Last month we received a request letter from a regional hospital north of Astana.  We were able to schedule a visit and tour a department of the hospital.

We met with the director/head physician of the hospital and also met the director of the pulmonary department.   This hospital is in need of patient assessment equipment.  The need is so great that we hurried to write up and submit a project.  We were glad when the project was approved by the area welfare department the next day.

When we went for a walk last week we saw men still ice fishing on the river.  Since then there has been a major thaw.  Although the river remains frozen, the streets are finally clear. Hooray!!  It is so nice to walk on dry pavement.  I am wearing shoes instead of winter boots for the first time since late October.  It is so nice.

This is my countdown chain.  Only seven weeks until we come home.   Our focus now is to finish up the projects we have started.
