We went for a walk through this neighborhood just south of our apartment building.  This picture was taken from our 8th floor window.   The city of Kemerovo is surrounded by hills and evergreen forests.

Most of the homes have metal roofs. Some are older log cabins.

Most homes have satellite dishes or TV antennas.

Some are pretty colors with this decorative window framing.

This is a two family home.

A few of the homes are newer.

Many of the homes have pretty flower gardens.

There are many dogs and a few cats..

Every house is surrounded by a fence or wall.

Most backyards are gardens.

A city of contrasts!

  1. Great group of pictures. I don't see cars or garages or any need for lawnmowers. How does their mail get delivered with all the walls and dogs?--are those blue boxes on the outside of the walls mailboxes?

    1. There are some cars, but few garages. Many families only use public transportation. I haven't seen or heard a lawnmower. Yes, the blue boxes on the outside of the walls are mailboxes.
