Before we left Kazakhstan, we visited some nonprofit organizations to determine if help could be provided.  During our stay in Russia we have had time to develop and submit three projects for approval.  This week we learned that all three projects have been approved by the area office in Moscow.  We are so happy.  One project is to supply new sewing machines to an organization that trains and employs the hearing impaired.
Another project is to provide wheelchairs to a hospital/orphanage that cares for children with disabilities.  The third project is to provide toys and books for use in therapy at a center for children with autism and hearing impairment who are learning to speak.   We also have a Wheelchair Project in Kyrgyzstan and then Neonatal Resuscitation Training Projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in August and September.

This is Timur, our translator in Kazakhstan.
Without his help, we would not accomplish much!

It seems that many cities in Russia are on a river.  This is the river Tom.  We took an hour or so on Monday to walk along the river and enjoy a beautiful day.

Kemerovo has many statues and monuments.
Here are some some of the ones along the river walk.
