We visited Lenin Square.  I have been told that every city in Russia has a Lenin Square. 

Three soldiers.  The Novosibirsk Opera House and Theatre is in the background on the right.  We went to a concert there last week.

Below is a picture of the Grand Hall.  There was no sound system used during the concert.  The singers were able to fill the hall with their voices.

Our stay has been longer than we had anticipated.  We have humanitarian projects in progress in Kazakhstan and can do much of the work involving documentation, contracts and shipments from here by computer and phone.  Our translator in Astana has been a big help.   There is still no word on the status of our visas.  In the meantime I have enjoyed soaking up the Russian culture.  It really is fascinating here; experiencing life, seeing the sights and getting to know the people.
